Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 Drops April 4 – Mizutsune Returns, New Challenges, Grand Hub & More!

Yo, hunters! We’ve got some HEAT dropping into Monster Hunter Wilds™ on April 4th with Title Update 1 — and it’s lookin’ like a game-changer. If you thought the Forbidden Lands were wild before, wait ‘til you see what Capcom’s cooking up this time. We’re talking new monsters, new quests, a massive new hub, festivals, gear, and even a little drip for your handler.

Let’s break it all down.

Mizutsune Slides Back In — Get Ready to Soak

The graceful-yet-deadly Mizutsune makes its splashy return from Monster Hunter Rise™, and it’s bringing all the slippery chaos to Monster Hunter Wilds' Forbidden Lands. Starting April 4, hunters at HR 21 and up can take on the bubbly beast by chatting with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest.

This ain’t your average hunt — those immobilizing bubbles and graceful swipes are no joke. And if you’re sitting pretty at HR 41+, expect to run into a Tempered Mizutsune out in the wild.

Also showing up to ruin your day (in the best way possible): Arch-tempered Rey Dau. You’ll need to be HR 50+ to step into this Event Quest, but if you survive, you’ll walk away with the all-new Rey Dau Gamma armor set. Oh, and after that? Say hello to Zoh Shia again, now featured in the Wyvern’s Wakening — and yeah, it drops parts for high-rank hunter and Palico gear.

Title Update 1 Brings Arena, Challenge, and Free Challenge Quests

If you like to flex your speedrun muscles or just want more ways to grind, Arena Quests, Challenge Quests, and the new Free Challenge Quests are dropping with this update. Here's the rundown:

  • Arena & Challenge Quests: 1-2 players, fixed loadouts.

  • Free Challenge Quests: Up to 4 players, bring your own builds.

All of it is cross-platform online or solo with Support Hunters. And if you’re fast enough? Land yourself on the Expedition Record Board and grab some exclusive pendants.

Plus, rotating Event Quests will reward you with gear, armor, cooking ingredients, and fast-track Hunter Rank XP. That’s a W.

The Grand Hub – A New Hangout for Hunters

Capcom’s dropping the Grand Hub, a huge new space where hunters can squad up, show out, and even bowl barrels (yes, seriously). Unlocks at HR 16 after you talk to Tetsuzan in Suja.

  • Barrel Bowling Minigame – earn pendants and useful items.

  • Squad Info Counter – now housed in the Hub.

  • Diva’s Songs – nightly vibes that hit different.

  • Arena Leaderboards – flex your speedrun times globally.

Festival of Accord: Blossomdance Starts April 23

Seasonal events are here! First up is the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, running April 23 – May 7. Expect a full vibe shift in the Grand Hub with:

  • Limited-time quests

  • Unique meals and decor

  • Festival gear, gestures, and Pop-Up Camp decorations

  • Returning Event Quests

Arch-tempered Rey Dau will headline an Event Quest from April 30 – May 21 as part of the festival’s grand finale.

Drip Check – New Cosmetics, Handler Outfits, and DLC

Wanna style out? Title Update 1’s got you covered:

  • New outfit for Handler Alma (and yes, you can finally change her glasses)

  • Classic gestures – free DLC!

  • Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 – includes hunter + Palico gear, Camp Gear, and more

  • Free and paid cosmetics to customize your whole hunting crew

If you’ve got the Premium Deluxe Edition or Cosmetic DLC Pass, you’re already good. But there’s more coming beyond this, too.

What’s Next? May Update Teased + Summer Title Update 2

Capcom also teased the next free update dropping late May, featuring a Capcom crossover, a new Endemic Life viewer, and quality-of-life tweaks. They’re also hyping Title Update 2 for Summer 2025, so keep your eyes peeled.

TL;DR – Monster Hunter Wilds April 2025 Update Highlights:

  • Mizutsune returns on April 4 (HR 21+)

  • Arch-tempered Rey Dau + Gamma armor set (HR 50+)

  • Zoh Shia hunts return

  • Arena, Challenge, Free Challenge Quests

  • Grand Hub unlocks at HR 16

  • Festival of Accord: Blossomdance – April 23 to May 7

  • New cosmetics, handler outfits, and free DLC

  • Next update hits end of May, with Title Update 2 this summer

If you’re grinding Monster Hunter Wilds, this is the perfect time to jump back in. More monsters, more gear, more vibes — and with crossplay, there’s no excuse not to squad up.

Stay sharp, stay stylish, and stay OnThaSticks.
